Mandy Lebeau is the American Red Cross of Central New York – Oswego Branch Dunkin Donuts Volunteer of the Month for December. Mandy has been a volunteer with the Red Cross since May of this year. She became interested in the Red Cross after she often heard stories of the way the Red Cross has helped out and felt she really wanted to be a part of that. During her seven months here Mandy has helped with casework follow-up to people who were recently victims of disasters. She has been busy training so she can be part of the Disaster Action Team, which answers to disasters in our area. She also helped out with our Cards for Soldiers program.
The most rewarding experience since she has been with the Red Cross is when she was a part of the Cards for Soldiers. The Red Cross goes out into the community and sets up places where people can sign cards for the Military and their families. She felt honored to be a part of that as she has a huge heart for our military and families.
Mandy would strongly encourage others to take time out of their schedules and volunteer with the Red Cross. She believes that if everyone at some point in their lives gives back, they will get a real sense of what makes the world beautiful.
Mandy lives inMexico, NY. She has graduated from SUNY Oswego with her Bachelors in Psychology and plans on perusing her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. She was recently blessed to have visited the country ofHaitiin relief efforts. She explained it as a beautiful experience that she now looks for any way she can help out in her community and with other people in the world. She loves relief work because it helps others but also makes me a better person.
Congratulations to Mandy for being our Dunkin Donuts Volunteer of the Month for December!!!!
