Tops once again is stepping up to take care of our community.

It’s creating a can drive for Catholic Charities for the Christmas Baskets that will go out to those that qualify.

This drive can provide as much as 900 cans of vegetables.

Legislator Karasek, District 22, and his wife, Patricia, have purchased 25 cases of vegetables (12 cans = 1 case).

“I now present a challenge to the community to match our 25 cases and if that goal is reached then Tops will donate 25 more cases,” Karasek told Oswego County Today.

That will give Catholic Charities 75 cases of veggies to use towards the Christmas Basket Program.

This is how it works, when you shop at Tops you can purchase 12 cans of veggies and that will equal one case. You will be accommodated at the service desk to simply walk in and pay or you can give the service desk 12 cans that you have selected.

“I know some of the most generous people in the region live in Oswego County. I thought this would be a great way to pay it forward and the end result helps so many,” Karasek said. “I look forward to assisting in loading that donation to go to Catholic Charities.”

“So, as a group, a family or just you – please accept this challenge and let’s take care of our neighbors, friends or even those you do not know,” he added. “Have a great holiday season and thank you.”
