Leonard D. Abbott, 61, of Besaw Rd., Phoenix, NY, Town of Palermo, passed away at his home on Monday December 12, 2011 with his family by his side.
Born in Oswego to his late parents, Hubert and Edith (Dodge) Abbott on January 30, 1950. A graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, Fulton, class 1968. An early entrepreneur, he became the owner/operator for Abbott Cleaning Services for over 43 years. He also earned his CDL, highest class license. Leonard attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Central Square Congregation. He loved camping, especially building campfires for his family and friends. A builder, he enjoyed constructing cedar hope chests for many people.
Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Robyn L. (Hoar) Abbott; his three adult child ren and their spouses, Daniel (Meghan) Abbott of Buffalo, Amber (Chris) McKay of Phoenix, and Justin Abbott of Phoenix; three brothers, Larry Abbott of N. Syracuse, David Abbott of FL, Nathan Abbott of Oswego; one sister, Eileen Perez of ME; five grandchildren; one aunt & one uncles; nieces, nephews, cousins.
Services are on Friday December 16, 2011 at 10:30am at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, NY, with Elder Jake Manwaring officiating. Calling hours are on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home, 431 Main St..
