David Lepage, who has served as president of G&C Foods for 15 years, said that he was “honored and delighted” to be chosen as honorary chair of OCO’s annual bowling tournament fundraiser.

This is also a special milestone for Lepage because of his recent retirement from the G&C Foods, a company that he helped to grow a culture of shared vision, effective communication, leadership development, customer service, and community involvement.

“OCO and G&C Foods have developed a close relationship over the past several years, donating more than $40,000 to the agency,” said Diane Cooper-Currier, OCO’s executive director. “This company truly believes in giving back to the community, and one way they do that is through involvement with our Bowl-A-Fun, participating as major sponsors and sending numerous teams of employees. They look forward to this event every year, and so do we!”

Oswego County opportunities is celebrating 50 years of service in 2016, hence the name ‘Fifty and Fabulous!’ for this year’s Bowl-a-Fun, set for April 9, at Lakeview Lanes.

G&C Foods sent 6 teams to the 2014 OCO Retro Bowl, creating a colorful sea of tie-dyed shirts worn by 30 enthusiastic bowlers at Lakeview Lanes that day. The company has been a major sponsor of this popular fundraising event since 2011.

“The ‘Fifty and Fabulous!’ Bowl-A-Fun will be a little bit different from previous years, with just one flight of bowling, the Corporate Competition, from noon to 2:30 p.m., to recognize and honor our sponsors. Instead of the second flight, OCO is throwing a huge party starting around 2:30 p.m. with open bowling, live music and special performers in the bar area, including Elvis himself,” Cooper-Currier said.

Teams need to register if they want to participate in the first flight of bowling, noon – 2:30 p.m.

Registration is open for five-person teams. Cost per team is $500, and teams are encouraged to raise their registration fee through sponsorship from their workplace and by collecting pledges.
