It was a privilege to attend the Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser on Thursday, April 29th at G. Ray Bodley High School. All the money that was raised at the sporting event will be sent to the Golisano Children’s Hospital. As many of you may be aware, three children within the Fulton school system are being treated for cancer. Tim Conners is one of those children.
If ever anyone wanted to see and feel caring, sharing, living and loving, it was evident last night. People of every age attended the fund raiser to bring acknowledgement and encouragement to the children and families battling cancer as they face very difficult procedures and terrible fears in their forward movement to gain control and final victory over this once unmentionable disease.
We especially want to thank senior Jake Tallents (and his family) for his organizational skills in pulling together school personnel (teachers and coaches) and fellow students to reach out to the Conners Family and especially Tim who was the catalyst for this event. Also a thank you to Brian Busch who took the microphone and spoke to all of us about his treatment for cancer as well as his former lifestyle and fervent wish to find a cure for cancer. Brian serves as a positive example for Tim.
The Conners Family has kept countless people abreast of Tim’s treatments, progress and daily eating marathons by use of the CaringBridge website, which is www.caringbridge.org. Please keep Tim and others who are receiving cancer treatments and their families in your prayers and continue to send positive energy their way.
