OSWEGO – As a graduating senior from Mexico High School, Liam Kerr has been in the school’s musical each year including Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Footloose and most recently as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.
In addition to school productions he has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from his recent appearance as Lumiere in the CNY Art Centers’ Beauty and the Beast Jr, to student directed college productions, a miniseries, a short film and an USAF recruitment video.
Theater has been a constant in Liam’s life and as he ends his high school career it seems fitting that he is taking to the Oswego Players’ Frances Marion Brown stage once again in the upcoming production of Annie Get Your Gun as Tommy, bringing this chapter to a close where it first began.
Liam first stepped onto not only a stage at age 6, but onto the Oswego Players’ stage where he was in the cast of a Fairytale Courtroom. The love of stage and theater have been a constant in his life and will help shape his future as he is planning on attending Villa Maria College in Buffalo to major in Digital Filmmaking.
Liam would like to pass along the words of wisdom from the Mexico High School Drama Club tradition.
Instead of wishing each other good luck or the famous “break a leg,” they all ask each other to “take care of me.”
When accepting the award from Liz McIntosh, Players’ treasurer, Liam said, “To all the Oswego Players who have helped shape my past, present and future, a very special thank you and please continue to ‘take care of me.’”
