Library Learning Center Offers Four-Part Computer Basics Classes

The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a four-part Introduction to Computers workshop on July 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Each class is free and runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Topics covered by the instructor include: mouse and keyboard basics, getting started with programs, basic hardware components, and introduction to the Internet. No previous experience with computers is necessary.

The Library Learning Center will also offer a four session Internet Basics workshop on July 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 2 to 4 p.m.

This free workshop will include topics such as how to connect to the Internet, how to use a web browser, searching for information, online privacy and safety, email and social media.

In addition to our introductory workshops, the Library Learning Center will feature Windows 8, Photoshop Elements for Artists, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint.  Dates and times are as follows:

July 11 – Windows 8: 10 a.m. – noon

July 12 – Photoshop Elements for Artists: noon – 3 p.m.

July 18 – Microsoft Word: 10 a.m. – noon

July 25 – Microsoft Powerpoint: 10 a.m. – noon

The Library Learning Center is located on the lower level of the Oswego Public Library, and is open Monday-Friday.

All programs are free and open to the public.
