OSWEGO- The auction to benefit the Oswego Lighthouse restoration project, originally scheduled for October 25, has been rescheduled to April 25, 2015.
Donations are still being accepted and are strongly encouraged from the community.
“In order to maximize the auction as a fund raiser for the Lighthouse, we decided to reschedule the event to April 25, 2015,” said Mercedes Niess, executive director of the H. Lee White Marine Museum. “This will allow us more time to pursue quality donations. The restoration project will be extensive and we are trying our best to reach our auction goal.”
The Lighthouse Auction is one piece of the “Love Our Lighthouse” campaign to raise the necessary funds to complete the restoration project of the West Pierhead Lighthouse.
The restoration project has already begun and is being coordinated by the H. Lee White Marine Museum and many community volunteers.
More information about the restoration project and the campaign efforts will be announced over the next several months.
The auction on April 25 will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the American Foundry in Oswego.
Tickets are available now and at the day of the event for a $10 donation.
