“Live Wire” AC/DC tribute band highlight Saturday at Harborfest in 2013

The largest line-up annually at Harborfest on the NRG Oswego Harbor Power “Lakeview Stage” in Breitbeck Park, is reserved for Saturday afternoon and evening.

That will again be the case on Saturday July 27, as Oswego’s Harborfest, New York State’s Premier Admission-Free Festival, will be proud to welcome great regional bands to the NRG Lakeview Stage before and after the world class Grucci fireworks display presented by Entergy.

The afternoon starts off with powerful Syracuse, based rock band F5. They are a crowd
pleasing group playing a wide variety of music from Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne and Led Zeppelin to Breaking Benjamin, Nickleback and Shinedown. They also cover some in-between music favorites like Michael Jackson and more.

F5 is sure to produce one of the best shows you will see in the Central New York area.

Next up will be The Fabulous Ripcords, who can be heard most weekends in CNY rippin’ through Roots, Rock-a-Billy, Country, Blues, Swing, and music influenced by both New Orleans, Bakersfield and more.

The Fabulous Ripcords have performed all across the northeast in addition to their home in Central New York.  Over the years, the band and its members have opened for and played on bills with such noted musicians as Santana, Steve Miller, Phish, John Lee Hooker, Edgar Winter and others.

The Fabulous Ripcords began as a project put together by Rex Lyons to explore some of his favorite music using some of his collaborators in The Roustabouts, another renowned roots band in CNY fronted by Dugan Henhawk.

Rex’s cousin, Irv Lyons Jr., was brought in to play guitar and sing and Phil Regan came aboard on the drums. Jay Gould, on bass and Scott Ebner on keyboards round out the lineup.

The next act to take to the NRG Lakeview Stage will be Pete Witham & The Cozmic Zombies. Direct to the point, Witham and the Zombies are a Rockabilly/Psychobilly act that plays blazing original roots music.

Pete’s songs combine witty lyrics, theatrical delivery and a heavy dose of chicken plucking stomp.

The evening rounds out with the fireworks “wrap” concert from AC/DC tribute band Live Wire who will perform before and after the world class Grucci fireworks display presented by Entergy.

Live Wire emulates the pure essence, power, and electricity of what an AC/DC show is all about and has proven that to audiences time and time again.

Live Wire performs the best of AC/DC from the early roots of the bands Australian club circuit days, to the superstar worldwide status of their present hits.

Live Wire, from the New York metro area is comprised of five veteran professional musicians which are some of the very finest AC/DC member clones/impersonators to form the most accurate AC/DC live show you will ever see, next to the real thing.

Live Wire can give you the biggest hits: “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Highway To Hell,” “Back In Black,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “T.N.T.,” “Whole Lotta Rosie,” “Thunderstruck,” “Hells Bells” and more, to the other big fan favorites such as “Shoot To Thrill,” “Have A Drink On Me,” “Sin City,” “Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be,” “Jailbreak,” “Shot Down In Flames” and many, many more.

Their repertoire is continually growing, now over 80 songs strong, and they continue to add new songs to set lists as often as they can.

The finishing touches are being put on the Saturday acts for the NRG Lakeview Stage but these great performances, capped off by Live Wire, are sure to make for a great afternoon and evening for all that attend.
