Local Businesses Work Together Presenting Best Deals in Town

OSWEGO – SOLO: Shop OsweGO Live OsweGO was the idea of local business owners Steven Phillips and Linda DaMassi both of the Port City Co-Op.

They are the same team who brought Oswego the “OsweGO Sundays Flea Market” that has been a very popular overwhelming success which complimented the Taste of the World – Specialty Foods and Coffee’s Car, Truck and Motorcycle Rally, “Mugs & Motors” presented on the first and third Sundays of May – August in downtown Oswego.

SOLO is a collaborative non-profit affordable effort for local businesses to work together promoting each other’s businesses and the quality of Oswego’s life through the use of social, online and traditional media.

Seasonal Sales and Promotions will be presented via social media so that consumers can find them all in one place. The cost to the businesses is minimal allowing the businesses to pass along the savings to its customers with lower prices and better promotions.

SOLO’s first promotion will be “Christmas in July” with more than 22 local businesses participating with some offering discounts up to 70% off regularly priced items.

A complete and detailed list of the participating businesses and their discounts is available at the SOLO website; www.shoposwegoliveoswego.com

Believing the old adage that “Word of mouth is your best advertiser” SOLO hopes to act as the “New – word of mouth” primarily through the use of social media where business owners, employees and customers can post and share information about Oswego’s community and help “get the word out.”

If you own or know a business that could benefit from becoming a “SOLO Partner” stop by The Port City Co-Op during normal business hours or call 315/439-2040.
