Local Hours for 11/14-21 Shoe Box Donations in Oswego County

Oswego, Phoenix, Richland, NY — Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week has begun and will run from November 14 through Monday, November 21 at local collection sites in Oswego, Phoenix and Richland. The hours to drop shoe boxes filed with school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys off at local collection sites are:

Southwest Oswego United Methodist Church, 7721 State Route 104, Oswego:
• Monday, November 14: 5-7pm
• Tuesday, November 15: 5-7pm
• Wednesday, November 16: 12noon-3pm
• Thursday, November 17: 5-7pm
• Friday, November 18: 12noon-3pm
• Saturday, November 19: 10am-1pm
• Sunday, November 20: 1pm-4pm
• Monday, November 21: 10am-12noon

Lamson Road Community Church, 2259 Lamson Road, Phoenix, 315-329-9702
• Monday, November 14: 10am-12noon
• Tuesday, November 15: 5pm-8pm
• Wednesday, November 16: 10am-12noon
• Thursday, November 17: 1pm-3pm
• Friday, November 18: 11am-1pm

On Monday, November 21, the boxes will be transported to the Operation Christmas Child processing center in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they are packed for overseas shipment. The gifts for boys and girls ages 2-14 are sent by ship and plane into more than 100 countries. Boxes go to new children each year. The relief and evangelical outreach is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse led by Dr. Billy Graham’s son Franklin Graham.

In 2010, 8.18 million Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes were distributed around the world. More than 10,210 boxes were collected in Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Oswego, and Herkimer counties last year.
