FULTON, NY – CNY Arts Center will be shining the spotlight on the newly published poet known simply as Drew, on March 29 at 7 p.m.
During the event, Drew will read selected poetry from his new book “Loves Me…Not!” and talk about his process of poetry writing.
The discussion will be facilitated by Jim Farfaglia following the monthly Writer’s Café which will start at 6 p.m. as an open forum for all writers to share their own work and provide friendly feedback for each other.
Drew is a poet and an artist, whose art work has been seen in Arts in the Heart Gallery.
At the fall juried art show “In the Artist’s Eye” Drew took first place for this model ship building.
He loves to work with his hands from building pool tables to creating a sand rail that he named, “Ridin’ Dirty.”
Drew is self taught claiming no formal art training but hopes to get his literary degree someday.
Drew credits being from a large family in a small town as building his character.
He said, “Life was really a shot in the dark for me” explaining his poetry is based on times, people and events in his life.
Drew is already working on his first novel, “Smoke Screen of Lies,” from the series, “Setting the Record Straight.”
Drew has turned his name into a business for his poetry and artwork, “Drew by Drew.”
Writer’s Café meets the last Sunday of each month (except April) and is free and open to the public.
Café starts at 6 p.m. followed by Author Spotlight at 7 p.m. March 29 at CNY Arts Center located at 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga Community College Campus.
