Local residents honored at SUNY Oswego convocation

OSWEGO, NY – SUNY Oswego presented scholarships and other awards to 111 students at the college’s spring Honors Convocation.

Several local residents were honored, including (with their major or majors in parentheses):

Paullette A. Yablonski of Nine Mile Point Road in Oswego, class of 2013 (anthropology ). She is the daughter of Julia and Paul Yablonski of Oswego.

Laura M. Murtha of County Route 33 in Central Square, class of 2014 (adolescence education and mathematics).

Anita L. Pratt of West Van Buren Street in Oswego, class of 2013 (geology ).

Tara R. Fleming of Hamilton Street in Mexico, class of 2014 (applied mathematical economics and applied statistics). She is the daughter of Lisa and Tracy Fleming of Mexico.

The formal ceremony, complete with a procession of faculty and college officers in full academic regalia, is sponsored each spring at Oswego by Vega, the women’s honor society. The audience included faculty, staff, students and students’ family members.

Admission to SUNY Oswego is competitive.
