Local Students Graduate from Wells College

AURORA , NY – Several local students earned diplomas as part of the Wells College Class of 2012:

Meghan Burns of Fulton, N.Y., earned a bachelor’s degree from Wells College. Meghan majored in public affairs with a concentration in government and politics.

Gillian Mowers of Williamstown, N.Y., earned a bachelor’s degree from Wells College. Gillian majored in mathematical and physical sciences with a concentration in computer science.

Jessica Ward of Hannibal, NY, earned a bachelor’s degree from Wells College. Jessica majored in psychology and minored in biology.

The ceremony took place on the shore of Lake Cayuga, on the lawn of the Aurora Inn on May 26. The Commencement address was given by nationally-recognized civil rights expert, associate dean and professor of law at Suffolk University Law School and member of the College’s class of 1967 Karen Frankel Blum.

One hundred nineteen Wells students earned their diplomas this year, as part of the college’s 144th Commencement ceremonies.
