OSWEGO, NY – Louis C. Barton Sr., 83, a resident of Nine Mile Point Road in the Town of Scriba, died Sunday Aug. 23, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Barton was born in Fulton, the son of the late Richard and Marie (Elkin) Barton.
He was a life resident of Oswego County.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a laborer with Laborers’ Local #214.
He worked on many projects throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Hill) Barton of Scriba; five daughters, Lorraine King of Scriba, Gloria (James) Brown of San Antonio, Sandra (Dick) Knowles of Florida, Bonnie (Ted) Buske of Oswego and Barbara (Tom) Ware of Scriba; two sons, Louis (Julie) Barton Jr. of Oswego and James (Monika) Barton of New Haven; two sisters, Agnes Familo of Florida and Helen Swinson of Oswego; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert Barton; and a grandson, Robert King.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
