Lucille Eleanor Frech Coultrap

Lucille Eleanor Frech Coultrap, 97, a 5-year resident of Oswego, New York, formerly of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, died peacefully Saturday, June 12, 2010, at The Manor at Seneca Hill with family members at her side.

She will be remembered for her love of her family, her beautiful gardens, her intricate needlework, and her good humor.

Lucille was born on May 16, 1913, in Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond E. and Emma F. Frech. Lucille graduated from Iowa State University in 1936, and then interned and had a staff appointment at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she met her husband-to-be.

She earned her MS in nutrition from Cornell University in 1944, and worked for some years as a dietician. A homemaker, she served as co-president of the Walker School PTA; contributed for many years as an election judge; participated actively in the alumnae club for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi; and led her women’s unit at church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul Will Coultrap, and her brothers, Raymond and Harold. She is survived by her children Susan M. Coultrap-McQuin (Oswego, NY) , Martha F. Coultrap (New York City), and Paul W. Coultrap, Jr. (Downers Grove, IL); their respective spouses, David McQuin, Harvey M. Bagg Jr., and Gail Vasey Coultrap; and her grandchildren, Katherine, Charlotte, Christopher, Emma, and Anne Marie; three nieces, three nephews and their children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University or your favorite charity.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. with a viewing at 9 a.m. at Union Church, Hinsdale, Illinois, on Saturday, June 19, followed by private interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva, Illinois.
