Sixth grader Monty Reed, left, enjoys a meal with his mother, Kara, during the school’s recent Lunch and Learn program.

This is being accomplished, in part, by the school’s Lunch and Learn programs where parents are invited to join their child at lunch to hear tips on how to help their child establish, reach and exceed academic and behavior goals.

Students record their efforts in a data tracking sheet, which remains in a folder at school.

Ariana Suhr, Fairgrieve’s school-home liaison, said students continue to learn that working toward a goal helps them become successful.

She and Principal Jean Sampsell encouraged families to develop students set goals at home to help them achieve greater success at school.

If parents were not able to make the fall 2016 Lunch and Learn program, Suhr said they will have another opportunity to participate in the spring of 2017 program.
