Hundreds of spectators will pack Joe Wilber Field this Saturday night for the annual Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers “Pageant of Champions.”
Preparations are under way as the Bucs host the annual “Pageant of Champions” at Joe Wilber Field on Saturday.
The “Pageant of Champions” usually attracts a standing-room only crowd and begins at 6 p.m. with Small School 3 Westmoreland followed by Large School 3 Auburn. The Small School 2 bands in competition include Jordan-Elbridge and Phoenix while the Large School 2 bands will be Central Square and Cicero-North Syracuse.
In the SS1 class will be Mohonasen and East Syracuse-Minoa while the National Class will close out the competition with West Genesee and Liverpool.
Oswego is a Small School 1 band, but will be performing in exhibition after the competing bands.
This will be the final “Pageant of Champions” appearance for the members of the “Class of 2014.”
Seniors include drum majors Cassandra Hondro and Anne Reynolds.
Band members in the senior year include Makenzie Harpst, Brittany Reed, Caylin Ward, Kennedy Singletary, Tiffani Vosseller, Tyler Benjamin, Mike Chetney, Michael Sheffield, Loren Willmes, Austin Jackson, Nicholas Sheary, Tyme Baez, Emily King, Emily Mills, Tory Welsch, Conor Hendrie, Alex Carl, Justin Abbott, Jordan Attwood, Tom Godfrey, Casey Adner, Nina Alcasid, Lexie DeSacia, Holly Gilbert and Sarah Lamb.
Color guard Myranda Arnesen, Stephanie Cuzyck, Danielle Gilbert, Cassidy Jones, Marsaili Knapp, Cayla-Ann Knapp, Betsy O’Gorman and Tiffany Smith.
Tickets for the show are available from Marching Buc band members or at the gate the evening of the “Pageant of Champions.”
At Cicero-North Syracuse last Saturday, five Small School 1 bands took the field for competition.
New Hartford captured top honors with a 77.25 and was followed by East Irondequoit 74.55, Oswego 72, East Syracuse-Minoa 71.90 and Mohonasen 69.25.
