The H. Lee White Marine Museum, located in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District”, is pleased to partner with the SUNY Oswego Department of Astronomy,Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â to present “Stargazers Night” on Saturday, September 13, 2008 beginning at 7:15 pm.
Join us for a night of stargazing, featuring Dr. Scott Roby, Associate Professor of Astronomy.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â The featured topic will be “Invaders of Mars,” focusing on our neighboring planet and recent discoveries and developments in our knowledge of it.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Was it a water planet? Were there really canals on Mars?
Roby will also provide information on viewing the night sky in our area.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Professional equipment will be available for closer viewing of the cosmos and to observe the stars, planets and full moon.
As program size is limited, pre-reservation is required. unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate large groups for this program.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Participants must be age 12 and over.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Doors open at 6:45 pm.
