Martha V. Haas, 92, a resident of 301 West First St. Oswego, passed away January 3, 2011 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Zillwood and Ida Mae (Brown) Smith.
She worked as a Line Inspector for Nestles in Fulton. Martha was a member of R.S.V.P. and the Palermo Senior Citizens. She worked as a Volunteer for Harborfest and the Oswego County Food Pantry.
Surviving are two daughters, Joanne Gardner of Martville; Linda (Bradley) Coe of Scriba; a brother, George Smith of Melbourne, Fl; two sisters, Geraldine Killenbeck of Syracuse and Elizabeth “Betty” Thompson of Oswego; eight grandchildren, Cheryl Maxwell, Terry Gardner, Deanne Hall, Kevin Gardner, Mandy Neira, Wendy McEvilly, Patricia Becksted and Christopher Sheffield; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends at St. Luke Apartments.
She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, George J. Haas and a brother, Malcolm Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at 4p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held 1-4p.m. prior to the service, at the funeral home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Spring burial will be in Oswego Rural Cemetery.
