Mary Elaine (Cook) Maurer of Harrisburg passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Holy Spirit Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Fulton N.Y. to Frederick and Lydia (Towse) Cook. She was a Navy Veteran of WWII. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of 58 years Stephen Anthony Maurer, brother Earl Cook, sister Marjorie Cole and nephew Marvin Cole.
Mary is survived by daughters Lydia Hammond of Marysville, Cynthia Maurer of Harrisburg, son Thomas and wife Stephanie of Enola, niece Lydia Parsons, nephews Richard Cole, Kenneth, William, and Frederick Cook. Also, beloved feline companion Minnie and faithful canine companions Beamer, Biz and Bella Hammond. She is also survived by a loving extended family of the heart; Karen Barna, Roe Creed, Delphine Gould, Jim Hammond, Bill Hoch, Diane Schindler, Dolores Schmittel, the Hannah family, the Matichak family and all her wonderful neighbors.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be interred at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff who attended to Mary while at the Holy Spirit Hospital.
