Mary Jane “M.J.” Parkinson McGilvray, 59, of State St., Phoenix, NY, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse after an illness.
Born in Syracuse to her late parents, Gerald J. and Jane (Andrews) Parkinson, Sr. on October 18, 1952.
A graduate of JCB High School, Phoenix, class of 1970. She then went on to Mohawk and Oswego State Colleges obtaining her degrees.
M. J. was a special educational school teacher as well as a technology specialist for Oswego County BOCES, in Mexico, NY.
M. J. was a member of the NYS Teachers Assoc.; treasurer and past president for Enterprise Fire Dept., # 1; WAVES Ambulance Corps; and chairman of the Town of Schroeppel Zoning Board.
Surviving are her loving husband husband, Chris McGilvray; brother Gerald (Susan) Parkinson of Pennellville; brother-in-law, Doug (Nancy) Mc Gilvray of Olivebridge, NY; sister-in-law, Connie (Ken) Burns of Hannibal; niece, Rachael Parkinson of Pennellville; other nieces, nephews, cousins.
