FULTON, NY – Mary Kavanaugh, 79, of Fulton left this life peacefully as she wanted surrounded by her children and grandchildren Tuesday June 10, 2008, at Oswego Hospital, Oswego, after a long illness.
Mary was a Registered Nurse having received her degree in nursing from the Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo.
She retired as a charge nurse at the Oswego Mental Health Center, Oswego, after 11 years.
Mary lived a long and full life.
She loved bingo, bowling and traveling.
Her love and faith in God was an inspiration to many who knew her and gave her comfort over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Kavanaugh, in 1981; her son, William Kavanaugh, in 1985; her granddaughter, Meaghan Kavanaugh, in 1988; her son-in-law, Larry Bortle, in 1999; and her sister, Carol Boltman, June 9, 2008.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin (David) Rast of Vermont, Michele (Robert) Corey of Hannibal, and Mary Sue Bortle of Hannibal; her brother, Charles ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œBudÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â (Sally) Himmelsbach of Florida; six grandchildren: Victoria and William Corey, Maria and Stephen Rast and Nicholas and Raymond Bortle.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Church where Rev. Moritz Fuchs will celebrate a mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in St. MaryÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s Cemetery, Fulton.
There will be no calling hours.
