PHOENIX, NY – Mary L. Pendergast, 95, former Oneida River Road, Pennellville, resident passed away at Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego, on Saturday December 15, 2012.
She was born in East Syracuse to the late Loretta (Bronner) and Joseph Stevens on November 6, 1917.
She was a graduate of Vocational High School in Syracuse, later becoming a co-owner of
Pendergast Grocery Store in the Belgium hamlet, Clay, and later the Oneida River Tavern on County Route 12, Pennellville.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, Robert F. Pendergast, on June
Surviving are her children, William R. (Judy) Pendergast of Pennellville, Barbara (Lloyd) Barbur of Richland, NY, Janet Loveless of Fulton and Carole (Fred) Gaylord of Clay; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the
Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
The funeral service will follow at 1:40 p.m. with the Rev. Diane Bradshaw officiating.
Burial immediately following the funeral in Pine Plains Cemetery, 8686 Henry Clay Blvd., Clay, NY 13041.
