OSWEGO, NY – Four Sevens Motorsports announced this week that 2014 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super Most Improved Driver, championship contender, and teenage sensation Anthony Losurdo will join forces with Speedway Hall of Famer Mike Bond as teammates in the new year.
Losurdo, of Oswego, piloted his family owned FFB chassis to third in the Speedway’s driver’s championship in 2014 with his first two career main event wins, along with six top five finishes, second only to track champion Andrew Schartner.
In 2015, Losurdo will move to Four Sevens Motorsports behind the wheel of a brand new FFB chassis under the guidance of three-time Speedway track champion Bond, who will also drive a new FFB mount starting in May.
“I’m very excited to make the move to Four Sevens in 2015,” said Losurdo. “We exceeded expectations in 2014 and that has put us in a position to team with Mike (Bond) and Denise (Merrill) to push our program to the next level. I’m grateful for the help of Losurdo Racing, the Small Block Super Crew of the Year, and all of our sponsors for making 2014 such a success. Joining our two teams together for 2015 will be amazing, and I am ready to learn and gain more experience with a championship teammate like Mike.”
During the 2014 preseason, Bond was tabbed as the championship favorite when it was announced that defending champion Russ Brown was retiring from full-time competition.
Bond delivered early, showing superior speed in the No. 74, but an accident in June sidelined the Mexico driver for the majority of the season, eliminating him from championship contention.
Losurdo would then take the reigns as the highest finishing FFB chassis in the Small Block Super point standings behind the Hedger Fabrication chassis of Schartner and 2012 champion Kreig Heroth.
Bond would return to the Speedway for Budweiser International Classic Weekend, timing fifth overall of 29 competitors, later battling JJ Andrews for the Classic lead before tangling with a lapped car.
Losurdo’s first laps for Four Sevens Motorsports, in his new racing chassis, will come during the Speedway’s open practice session to be held on May 2.
Oswego Speedway’s 65th consecutive season of racing will then take the green flag on May 9, presented by Planet Fitness of Oswego.
