OSWEGO – Mayor Billy Barlow was honored as the recipient of the first-ever Strength in Unity Award by Victory Transformation on Thursday October 25 at the second annual Victory Transformation Inc. Silent Art Auction event at the American Foundry in Oswego.
The Strength in Unity Award is presented to a community member who demonstrates strength, service, unity and leadership advocating for individuals in critical need.
“I’m honored to receive the first-ever Strength in Unity Award from Victory Transformation,” said Mayor Barlow. “As mayor, I focus on helping the most vulnerable in our community by working to provide more fair, quality housing options throughout our city, standing up for tenant’s rights, creating programs and partnerships for those suffering from addiction, creating workforce development programs so the unemployed can gain the skills necessary for meaningful employment and helping the homeless. I believe we have an obligation to help those in our community who are less fortunate and struggling and by establishing quality partnerships and working with organizations like Victory Transformation Inc, we will continue to make progress by helping our neighbors who need it most.”
Victory Transformation Inc, is a local faith-based organization reaching out to touch those in the community who are in need of love, hope, and encouragement; while at the same time addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
