Mayor Gillen Comments on NYS ‘Landmark’ Budget Agreement

Mayor Tom Gillen:
Today, Governor Cuomo has announced an agreement with the Legislature on a 2013-2014 budget that is on track to become New York’s third on-time budget in a row – a feat that hasn’t been achieved in Albany in almost 30 years.

This is a balanced budget that invests in creating quality jobs and cutting taxes for middle-class families and small businesses.

This budget puts in practice the Governor’s vision for New York State by creating jobs, cutting taxes, and leading the nation in education, civil rights and providing a model for a government that works for everyone.

As mayor of the city of Oswego, I support the Governor’s commitment to the hard-working people of New York State.
