The Oswego Players will open the classic, “Dial M for Murder,” on February 8 at 8 p.m.
Playing the part of the villain is a newcomer to the organization, Nathan Wescott.
Director Troy Pepper chose Wescott from open auditions of those reading passages from the script.
His capturing the juicy part of the bad guy reemphasizes that you don’t have to be a member to try out.
The fact is, all new faces are welcome.
Once one of our reviewers from the college said he would not be able to comment on the show for us because he had seen the lead in so many shows that he didn’t feel he could be objective.
I guess you would call that overexposure.
Wescott has performed previously in high school, most notably in “My Fair Lady,” and as the lead actor (Lank) in “Crazy for You.”
When not rehearsing he is busy studying robotic engineering and works with Oswego Health – a busy fellow indeed.
The rest of the cast is filled out ably by Zane Leo, Elizabeth Ladd, Kyle Walton, Paul Michael Callahan, and Julia Preston-Fulton.
Production dates are February 8, 9 and 15, 16 at 8 p.m.
The matinee will be on February 17 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and 7/students.
Reservations are recommended, and available at the Players’ box office number: 343-5138.
Also, Oswego Players’ website at www.oswegoplayers.org is place for all sorts of local theatrical information.
