The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will be presenting a public program on June 3 at 2 p.m. (rain date June 8 at 7 p.m).
The spring skies and water echo with noise and activity as ducks, geese, herons, and other birds return to their natal ponds to court and raise their young. Participants can enjoy a slide presentation on ducks and other water bird residents of the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center’s ponds.
Following the indoor program, participants can enjoy a hike to the beaver pond. Perhaps participants will see a Wood Duck or Merganser hen with duckings or hear an American Bittern calling. Music will be provided by the Amphibian Orchestra. Binoculars recommended (a limited number are available for use.)
There is a $3.00 fee per person with a family rate of $12.00. Children under the age of 3 are free. Pre-registration is helpful, but not mandatory. The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is located at 748 State Route 183 in Amboy, eastern Oswego County.
