A Touch of Grace Ribbon Cutting
A Touch of Grace Inspirational and Every Day Gifts has new ownership and a new line of products. The Chamber celebrated with a ribbon cutting last Friday during their Open House. A Touch of Grace is located at 171 West First Street, Oswego. The owner Trisha Buck dedicated the store to her father Robert W. Gehan.

CNY Great Pumpkin Fest This Weekend in East Park
The countdown is on for Pumpkinfest 2015 with less than a week away – Celebrating community, family fun, and fall activities for 24 years! Scheduled for October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and October 4th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the CNY Great Pumpkin Festival will fill Washington Square Park (East Park) with crafters, fresh from the farm produce, food vendors, music, great food, games, and rides for children of all ages.
The Great Pumpkin Weigh-In will take place on October 3 beginning at 10 a.m. The giant pumpkins will be on display at the CNY Great Pumpkin Festival Saturday only. Volunteers, Steve Westcott and Connie Cosemento will once again help facilitate the weigh in.ScarecrowContest
The fun filled two-day event will also feature a wide variety of entertainment and activities including: Face Painting for the kids, Arts and Crafts Vendors, Carnival Rides and Games, Corn maze, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, and new this year a Scarecrow Contest. Contest rules can be found HERE

Josh, an Oswego County resident made it onto The Voice last season and recently played at the NYS Fair. There will also be a Best Pumpkin Pie and Pie Eating contest on Sunday.
Last year, more than 30 growers entered giant pumpkins in hopes of tipping the scales with the heaviest pumpkin. In addition a variety of squash, gourds, tomatoes, and other produce were entered for competition. Cre8 Studios, a local marketing and event management company has been asked by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce to oversee this year’s event. Cre8 Studios also owns and oversees the Friends of Oswego. “This has been a great collaboration of involving committed volunteers working together to do something special for our community. Events like these are important to local families. “ said Christopher Jones, owner of Cre8 Studios.
Stoney Meadow Farm is one of the many local businesses that support the festival. Each year Stoney Meadow oversees the pumpkin patch as well as delivering hay bales and corn stalk for the maze. “Without the support of businesses like Stoney Meadow this event would not be possible” Christopher Jones said.

Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce GFBC Meeting!
The next GFBC meeting is Tuesday, October 6th at 8am at Cayuga Community College. Our featured speaker this month will be Mary Costigan who is the Administrator of Michaud Residential Health Services. Mary will be discussing the general history of Michaud, where they have been and where they will be going. She will also focus on trends in long term care and short tern rehab. Local Agencies to Host Youth Program Forum
Representatives from a number of Oswego County’s human services agencies will host an Oswego County Youth Program Forum on November 4 at the McCrobie Building, 41 Lake Street in Oswego. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Open to anyone interested in learning about the many services and programs that are available to youth in Oswego County, the Youth Program Forum will provide youth service providers with an opportunity to share information on their programs while learning about other youth programs that exist in Oswego County.
“The Youth Forum is a perfect example of the synergy that Oswego County’s human services agencies have when it comes to delivering services that focus on helping children and youth succeed,” said Executive Director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County, Patrick Dewine.
Executive Director of the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, and co-chairperson of the event’s planning committee, Brian Chetney explained that the format and the location for this year’s Youth Forum has changed. “The new format and location will make for a much more inclusive forum. Rather than hosting a number of independent workshops, this year’s Youth Forum will offer attendees the opportunity to hear every presentation. They will not have to choose one presentation at the risk of missing another, said Chetney.
Representatives from each participating agency will discuss the services their youth programs offer, how to access the programs, and the positive impact these programs have on the youth of Oswego County. Additionally, there will be an information area where attendees may learn more about many of the other youth services available.

Just Push Play Productions along with The America Foundry are please to present “Eat Drink and Get Married…A Bridal Experience” on November 6, 2015, 6pm-9pm. We are currently seeking wedding professional and vendors for this “one of a kind” experience. “This Bridal Experience is a wedding expo with a twist,” says Nate Emmons, Lead Event Coordinator. Each bride will enjoy a FREE tasting from The American Foundry, a complimentary refreshment/cocktail of their choice and the opportunity to interact with various wedding vendors in an informal, networking, type setting. Both potential clients and vendors will be encouraged to socialize and network throughout the evening, as you both enjoy The American Foundry. Break free from the traditional “trade show” booths and limitations, and get to know your potential clients while at the same time having them get to know you.
A goal of “The Bridal Experience” is to help support the local economy and local business in Oswego, Fulton and the surrounding communities. “You don’t need to go to the big cities to find what a couple needs to have a terrific wedding,” says Emmons. With the show, couples will be able to “truly experience everything that our local vendors have to offer right here in our own backyard.”
With that in mind, interested businesses and members of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce will receive a discount on their vendor registrations from now through October 15th, reducing the vendor fee from $175 to $165. Vendor fee includes space with table and linen, complimentary cocktail, access to bridal lead list, electricity, complimentary light food/fare, and company listing on the Bridal Experience website. There are a limited number of vendor spots and “The Bridal Experience” will prioritize an equal distribution of vendors across all service areas. Vendor forms will be reviewed on a “first come, first served” basis and type of service being offered.
If your business is connected to the wedding field in anyway, now is a great opportunity to showcase your product/services to hundreds of potential clients. Approximately 800 brides will be directly contacted to attend “The Bridal Experience” along with local advertising/marketing.
