CNY Arts Center “Subject to Change” with Arts Market cancellation
With calendar planning months in advance, the phrase “Subject to Change” is a staple of any serious commitment and CNY Arts Center is no exception. The most significant change being announced this fall is the cancellation of the 5th annual Arts Market held at this time each year in the old Nestles parking lot.
“We’re in a new partnership and everything has been scrutinized,” said Executive Director Nancy Fox, “new collaborations and fresh ideas have poured in and we’ve had an exciting year. Part of the changes called for a fresh look at old traditions and better use of resources.”
“This prompted us to cancel plans for a previously announced combined Arts Festival and Arts Market and focus our energies on a collaboration with the Wooden Apple Farmstead Music and Arts Festival in its 3rd year in Palermo. Our mission, to provide engaging art opportunities for all artists whether music, visual or writing arts, is best served by supporting efforts already in place that reach a broader audience.”
Fox continued, “The Music and Arts Festival held on Labor Day weekend hosted by Matt Wood, Gina Holsopple and Renee Monet, provides the same opportunities for artists to share their handmade original arts along with the wonderful music and craftsmanship of singer songwriters and good old-fashioned family fun in a great outdoor environment. We work with the Wooden Apple Farmstead folks in collaborations throughout the year and encourage the community to make plans to attend this wonderful event – free and open to the public.”
