Michael A. Ferlito

Michael A. Ferlito, 77 of Oswego, died Monday at University Hospital in Syracuse.

A native of Fulton, he had resided in the Oswego – Hannibal area most of his life.

Michael had owned and operated Triple F Farms in Oswego and was a co-owner of Oswego Growers and Shippers.

He was a former: president of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County; board member of the Oswego County Vegetable Growers Improvement Association; board member of the Hannibal Central School District and president of the Hannibal P.T.A.

Michael enjoyed playing softball and bowling and had coached the youth baseball league in Hannibal. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, James and Santina (Belfiore) Ferlito; a son-in-law, Ronald Roessner and daughter-in-law, Deborah (Scott) Ferlito.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Joyce (Scott) Ferlito of Oswego; their eight children, Janeen Roessner of Hannibal, Thomas (Robin) Ferlito of Ellisburg, Marie (Jeffrey) Zufelt of Lancaster, PA, Dennis (Karen) Ferlito of Geneva, Mark (Deborah) Ferlito of Oswego, Tina (Joseph) Abraham of Phoenix, Matthew (Tracy) Ferlito of Wynantskill and Timothy (Sarah) Ferlito of Syracuse; two brothers, Ross (Malva) Ferlito of Hamilton and James Ferlito Jr. of Cary, NC; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; an aunt; a niece; two nephews and several cousins.

Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 923 Cayuga Street, Hannibal with burial at Hannibal Village Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
