Minetto Musical Production Of ‘The Lion King’ Outstanding

MINETTO, NY – The stage of the Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts has seen numerous outstanding high school productions. But, recently the elementary students from Minetto presented a musical spectacle with the presentation of “The Lion King.”

The Minetto Elementary School fourth, fifth and sixth grade chorus, under the director of music teacher Debora Bartholomew worked for months preparing the music and performance aspects of the show which was presented with separate performances for the school and community.

Bartholomew said, ”This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to work as a team in producing this program. It allows them to experience being part of a musical production. They worked so hard and it was a tremendous show. This might excite the interest in musical theatre or performing and I am certain you will see many of these students on stage in future Oswego High School musicals. This is a great thing for our students and something very special.”

The stage was packed with colorful costumes and a huge number of students.

The lead characters in the play included Jake Myers (Mufasa), Sydnie Leroy (Sarabi), Mollie McSweeney (Zazu), Kelci Somers (Rafiki), Doug Schneider (Scar), Kyra O’Gorman (Young Simba), Michele Lavery (Nala’s Mom), Claudia Engle (Young Nala), Cole Ylitalo (Groundhog), Abby Thompson (Shenzi), Nick Hurlbutt (Banzai), Lauren Jones (Pumba), Olivia Flint (Adult Simba) and Kayla Becksted (Adult Nala).

The narrators were Katrina Sharkey, Brynn Adner, Michele Lavery, Alexis Elmer, Alex Monahan and Trisha Ditton.

The wide array of animals graced the stage.

The meercats included Amber Tickle, Sami Gardner, Grace Bruns, Justin Pospesel, Eleanor Page, Sarah Dahar, Hannah St. John and D.J. Pfeifer.

Haley Boardway, Kelsey Wilder, Kaleya Dawley, Alexis Elmer, Kelsey Cullinan and Morgan Familo were giraffes.

Hippos included Izzy Dunning, Emily Strzelinski, Paige Kieper, Hannah Strzelinski, Katrina Sharkey, Trey Clark, Jack Malone, Michele Lavery, Nick Masuicca and Zach Sheridan.

Several lionesses were on stage with Jessica Godden, Abigayle Christian, Rachel Godden, Natalie Chubon, Natalie Griffin, Leah Mullen, Abby Donahue, Madisyn Miller and Alaina McMahon.

The zebras were Lauren Samson, Julia Choate, Brynn Adner, Breanna Race, Megan Durval, Madison Leroy, Abby Roy, Rory Henrie and Alexa Hardesty.

Kateri Senke, Angel Santillan, Jared Mills, Emily Lloyd, Kyle Topley, Kyle Roy, Jesse Hauser, Trisha Ditton, Dustin Simmons and Olivia Sliwa were monkeys.

Dressed as antelopes were Tiffany Ditton, Travis Dominick, Zach Sova, Amber Simmons, Nick Gray, Dakota Sinclair, Adriana Zagame, Maria Pelkey and Mason Arnesen.

Alex Monahan was a cheetah.

Buzzards included Paige Kieper, Emily Strzelinski, Izzy Dunning, Natalie Chubon, Brynn Adner and Katrina Sharkey.

Hyenas filled the stage with Amber Tickle, Grace Bruns, Sarah Dahar, Hannah St. John, D.J. Pfeiffer, Izzy Dunning, Emily Strzelinski, Paige Kieper, Hannah Strzelinski, Katrina Sharkey, Trey Clark, Jack Malone, Nick Masuicca, Jessie Godden, Abby Christina, Rachel Godden, Natalie Chubon, Leah Mullen, Abby Donahue, Madisyn Miller, Haley Boardway, Kaleya Dawley, Alexis Elmer, Morgan Familo, Lauren Samson, Julia Choate, Brynn Adner, Abby Roy, Rory Henrie, Alexa Hardesty, Trisha Ditton, Emily Lloyd, Kyle Topley, Kyle Roy, Jesse Hauser, Olivia Sliwa, Tiffany Ditton, Zach Sova, Nick Gray, Dakota Sinclair, Marie Pelkey, Isaiah Love and Montana Holmes.

Once again the Minetto Elementary School chorus presented an outstanding show  in this production of “The Lion King.”
