UPDATE 8:55 p.m. June 13
On Friday June 13, 2014, investigators with the Oswego City Police Department, Fulton City Police Department, Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police as well as members of the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office continued with the investigation into a vehicle that had been located in the Oswego River within the City of Fulton on Thursday June 12, 2014.
The vehicle, an early 1990s model, red colored, four door, Toyota Corolla LE, was successfully removed from the Oswego River during the latter afternoon hours.
The vehicle did not have registration plates affixed to it nor has it been positively identified at this time as to its registered owner.
Additionally located and removed with the vehicle are, what have tentatively been identified as human remains.
The vehicle and possible human remains have been transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office in Syracuse NY for further investigation.
The vehicle has been removed from about 15 or 20 feet of water this (June 13) afternoon
Neither the vehicle’s make nor model has been identified
Police are keeping everyone away from the parking lot and surrounding areas overlooking the Oswego River where a motor vehicle was discovered in the water on Thursday.
No new information has been released.
The Oswego City Police Department, in conjunction with the Fulton City Police Department, Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police and the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, is currently investigating a motor vehicle that was located in the Oswego River within the City of Fulton.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
