At about 1:04 p.m. today (May 3), members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle, motorcycle vs. car, motor vehicle accident on State Route 49 in the village of Central Square.

The accident occurred at the entrance to the southbound ramp of Interstate 81.

The motorcycle was a 2004 Yamaha Road Star operated by a Robert E. Gale of Sharyl Drive in Central Square and was traveling eastbound at the time of the accident.

Gale was transported to University Hospital, Syracuse, where he was pronounced deceased, deputies said.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Central Square Police department, Central Square Fire department, SOVAC ambulance, and Moulton’s towing.

The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
