Music, multimedia to work with short stories in latest ‘Graphic Flash’

OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego students’ words will meet music and multiple media as “Graphic Flash 4” opens with a free public artists’ reception at 2 p.m. Nov. 22, in the gallery at Oswego State Downtown, corner of West First and Bridge streets in Oswego.

The works in the exhibition involved more than 100 students and five faculty members across multiple disciplines at the college: creative writing, digital art, digital publishing, cinema and screen studies, broadcasting, music and human-computer interaction.

Running through Jan. 24, the exhibition will display a multimedia variety of artistic works based on short stories.

Each story has a digital illustration, film adaptation and a musical interpretation, creating a multilayered juxtaposition of color and content for the viewer.

Oswego State Downtown, a branch of the College Store as well as an art gallery, is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
