BREWERTON, NY – Recent torrential rain and thunderstorms have forced the management of the Brewerton Speedway to cancel this Friday’s racing.
“The whole grounds, including most of the parking lot areas are like a lake,” said track promoter Harvey Fink. “I can’t remember the last time the speedway grounds have been this saturated with not enough time to dry out before Friday.”
Now all race fans and competitors can turn their attention to the first double weekend of racing for the 2011 season as the Fulton Speedway will swing their gates open on Saturday, May 7th.
At the Brewerton Speedway Friday May 6th, 100.9/106.5 KRock will present “A Mother’s Day Salute” with all ladies receiving a free carnation when they enter the gates. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds,, NAPA Late Models, Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Beaver River Distribution Mod Lites and the Metalico Four-Cylinder Super Stocks. Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger admitted free to the grandstands. Gates will open at 5:30 with racing at 7:30.
Then Saturday night May 7th it will be long awaited season opener at the Fulton Speedway located on route 57 just south of the city of Fulton. Thunder Island and the Oasis presents , Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, CT 525/Open motor Sportsman, NAPA Late Models , Novice Sportsman, Mod Lites and Gladiators. Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger admitted free to the grandstands. Gates will open at 5:00 with the first green flag of the season set to wave at 7:00.
