Neil Simon Dinner Show Opens Friday October 23 In Oswego

The Oswego Players and the Church of the Resurrection will present their seventh annual dinner show, a production of Neil Simon’s classic comedy, “Rumors”, this coming Friday and Saturday October 23 and 24, at the church.

Neil Simon’s “Rumors” was first presented on Broadway on November 17, 1988 at the Broadhurst Theatre, where it ran for slightly more than a year before transferring to the Ethel Barrymore, for a total run of 535 performances. The original cast included Lisa Banes, Christine Baranski, Ken Howard, Ron Leibman, Joyce Van Patten, and Jessica Walter.

The Oswego Players version of the show will feature a cast of Oswego Players regulars, including Nelson Metz, Sherrie Baker, Kelly Mahon, Matt Lamphere, Jennie Snow; Laura Lowerie, and Peter Mahon, along with Don Vanouse, Erin McIntosh and Mark Muribito The Show will be directed by veteren Director Inez Manor Parker.

“Rumors” will be presented in dinner theater format on the evenings of Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 with dinner being served at 630 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30 p.m. The show will be performed at the Church of the Resurrection located at 120 West Fifth Street in Oswego. The menu will consist of a traditional ham and scalloped potato church dinner served family style. Tickets for the dinner and show are $25 with show only tickets available at $10.
