Nelson N. Burdick, Sr., 81, of Pennellville, died on Tuesday July 12, 2011.
Born in the Town of Schroeppel to his late parents, Homer Clinto and Pansy (Kimball) Burdick on August 16, 1929. A former Carrier Corp. employed for 18 years. Later 31 years for the Village of Phoenix DPW, many years as superintendent. He was a member of the Pennellville United Methodist Church; held office as assistant chief for Pennellville Vol. Fire Dept..
Predeceased by his wife, Helen M. (Jarvis) Burdick in 2000; a grandson Jason Bell in 2005, a son-in-law Randy Larson in 2007.
Survivors are Barbara (Robert) Morris Gail (William) Godfrey, Debra Larson, Lauri (Danny) Cromp, Nelson N. Burdick, Jr., Lisa Burdick, Tina (Shawn) Thomas, and Keith Burdick; 9 grandchildren, Tondra, Will, Nick, Chris, Brandon, Caitlynn, Alan, Alex, Falesha; one great-grandchild, Angelo; several nieces, newphews, cousins.
Calling hours are on Friday July 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix. Services are Saturday at 2 pm in the Pennellville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Hodge officiating. Burial with firefighter honors are in Roosevelt Cemetery State Route 49, Schroeppel.
