FULTON – New Beginnings Christian Life is happy to join the family of churches as the newest non-denominational Christian church in the city of Fulton.
It is located on the west side – 301 Beech St., in the former St. Michael’s Church.
David Bassette is pastor and his wife, Crystal, is co-pastoring for New Beginnings and they are excited to fit into the community and see where this journey will lead.
We had a chance to sit with the pastors and talk about their vision of a community outreach and the different ministries the church will be starting.
Both pastors talked of a church that wants to be there for the community and to reach out to the lost and hurting.
Pastor David said, “The church can be a positive outlet, one of hope for the addicted, to the lonely, to the hurt. There are so many in this fine city, and we want to be there to hold a hand out and help.”
There are three main ministries to the church.
Sunday School class for ages between 5 and 10, a nursery for newborns to age 4 and on Thursday nights, a bible study teaching on the books of the bible.
On the second Sunday of each month, there will be a fellowship luncheon for everyone.
There are quarterly events that the community is encouraged to participate in; starting with the very successful first pig roast, held this past August.
That event was held in the Volney Fire Station, as there wasn’t a building for the church yet.
The second event of the year is actually coming soon, on March 25, the first chili cook off will be held in the church parking lot.
Details of that event following soon.
There is also a spring social and a harvest party with details coming in the month prior to events.
