Fulton, NY – ARC of Oswego County and Oswego Industries, Inc. and has announced the hiring a new Executive Director/CEO, Mike Szpak. This is only the third Executive Director in the history of both agencies.
In his new position, Szpak will be responsible for leading and managing services and daily operations for ARC of Oswego County and Oswego Industries, Inc.
In collaboration with the Board of Directors for both ARC and OI and senior management, Szpak will ensure alignment with the mission of both agencies, while overseeing budget goals and projections, business operations, corporate compliance and other managerial decisions.
“After a long search we believe we have found the perfect candidate to lead both agencies,” said Mike Egan, member of the Executive Director Search Committee which was comprised of both ARC and OI board members. “Mike’s experience seems to be an excellent fit for both of the agencies to best serve individuals with disabilities in Oswego County.”
Szpak comes to ARC of Oswego County and OI with managerial experience from a variety of sources, most recently Rochester Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Enterprise where he served as Vice-President of Operations and Business Development. In this role, Szpak created a new business incubator within a traditional subcontract business utilizing individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as veterans, of all ages.
Other related experience includes Divisional Operations Manager, Operations Project Manager, Finance Manager and Manufacturing, Engineering and Facilities Manager at CPI Business Groups. Some employment history includes full management of profit and lost responsibilities for various companies, turning many from profit losses into profit gains.
Related affiliations and certifications include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Management, QMS Lead Assessor, and experience with NISH, NYSID and NYS-COL contracts.
Szpak received his BS in Management of Human Resources from Roberts Wesleyan College and his MBA in Executive Development Program from the Simon School at the University of Rochester. Szpak currently lives in the Rochester area, but will be relocating to Oswego County.

Oswego Industries, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit Community Rehabilitation Program which has been providing programs and services to adults with disabilities since 1968. Services include pre-vocational and vocational training, day habilitation services, and Medicaid Service Coordination. Its mission is to be a partner in the development of comprehensive community services designed to improve the quality of life for all people, with the primary emphasis on those with disabilities, by providing the necessary support programs to enable individuals to grow with dignity and achieve their highest level of independence and self-fulfillment.
