New Format Of Middle And High School’s Open House Considered A Success

Hannibal, New York — Hannibal High School and Kenney Middle School changed the format of the annual “Open House” this year.

On Thursday, September 24, faculty, staff, and administration invited parents from both schools to attend a “Meet the Teacher BBQ” that occurred near the varsity football field. This event enabled parents and guardians to connect with faculty, staff, and administration in order to build positive home/school relationships.

The Hannibal Sports Boosters, students from the High School Key Club, and the Friends of Rachel Club volunteered their time and the Hannibal Faculty Association donated time and money to help make the event a success.

Attendance of high school parents increased significantly and the district is seeking feedback from the community about the event. Community members, parents, faculty, and staff are asked to go to the district website at and click on the link for the “Meet the Teachers Night Survey.”
