New Open Air Downtown Market To Begin In May

OSWEGO – A new open-air downtown market will begin the third Saturday of May and continue each third Saturday through September.

From 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19 and Sept. 16 the downtown market will feature more than 20 vendors, live music and food trucks.

The new family friendly market is coordinated by the Port City Co-Op and is an expansion of the Sunday Markets it has presented for the past two years.

The location will stay the same that being the PathFinder Bank parking lot on West Second Street adjacent to the Port City CoOp, 137 W. Second St.

“We are excited to move the market to Saturdays while all the other downtown businesses are open,” said Linda DeMassi, Port City CoOp manager/partner. “We think it will be a win-win for Oswego.”

Catharine Early, the second of three partners in the business said, “The vendors will come from all areas; new, used, vintage, and antique as well as produce. We hope to have wine tasting too along with the food trucks.”

The third partner, Steven Phillips said, “The market will feature live music to add energy and create a party-like atmosphere. You can shop, eat, drink and dance all in one place.”

Vendor space is available for $25 each of the market Saturdays.

Vendors must register and pay in advance.
