New Pastor Installed At New Haven Community Alliance Church

This past June, the New Haven Community Alliance Church’s pastor, Richard Sheets, resigned to accept the role of Head Pastor at the Amherst Alliance Church near Buffalo.

Since then, the church as been functioning with substitute pastors, under the Board of Elders and Ministry’s leadership, with Frank Whiting at the helm.

This past October, pastoral candidates were narrowed down and interviewed.

The selection process came to a close this fall with an invitation to Pastor Daniel Groh (formerly of the Lagrangeville Alliance Church) – an invitation he and his family accepted.

They made the move to New Haven the week before Christmas and Pastor Dan preached his first message two weeks ago.

The installation service took place on Sunday, January 12 at 6 p.m. at Community Alliance Church, 4175 State Route 104, New Haven.

Refreshments were served.

Pastor Dan, along with his wife, Terri, and family have recently moved to New Haven from Lagrangeville.

They have three children. Their oldest son, Nathan, is a member of the New Haven Fire Department. Stephen is a student at Dutchess County Community College. Their daughter, Emily, is a ninth grader at Mexico High School.
