I understand the vote was 6-0 and I must admit I am a little disappointed in Fran Hoefer for voting yes for a $101,000 salary. She is also guaranteed a 4% raise next year under the union contract.

However, I trust Mr. Dunsmoor and Mr. Hoefer’s judgment in a candidate and hopefully Ms. Oughterson will be an ally in the effort to reform the school day and increase productivity from OCTA. I do wish her the best of luck in her new position and I hope that she will earn her 6-figure salary unlike Mr. Crist, Mr. Colucci, Ms. Chamberlain and Mr. Myles, the four of whom have collectively accomplished absolutely nothing.

OK, if $101K is disappointng, what is a non-disappointing starting salary? Upon what do you base your number? Should no one in the OCSD make $101K? Why?
