New York Farm Bureau Appreciates Senator Aubertine’s “No” vote on Omnibus Farmworker Labor Bill

To the Editor:

Sen. Darrel Aubertine, a strong advocate for family farmers, voted to defeat the Omnibus Farmworker Labor bill this month in Albany.

This bill would have adopted mandates and increased costs that would have made it impossible for family farmers to keep producing food in this area. These mandates were totally incompatible with farming today, which depends on unreliable weather to plant and harvest crops.

Sen. Aubertine cast his vote in favor of our local farmers and the future of local foods and the rural economy. New York Farm Bureau appreciates Senator Aubertine’s leadership and his strong support of our local farmers.
