New York Students Appointed To National Leadership Positions With College Democrats Of America

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Members of College Democrats chapters in Albany and Stony Brook, N.Y. were recently appointed to leadership positions within the College Democrats of America, the official youth branch of the Democratic National Committee.

Jamie Zieno, a sophomore at the University at Albany, and Rachel Clark, a senior at Stony Brook University, took on roles with the National Communications Team. Haris Alic, also a UAlbany sophomore, joined the National Finance Committee.

All three students currently serve on the College Democrats of New York executive board.

“I look forward to working with both the Democratic National Committee and College Democrats of America on the issues we so deeply care about,” stated Zieno, who will join CDA as a traditional media coordinator.

“I’m excited to join the communications team as the first-ever social media coordinator for new platforms,” said Oswego native Clark. “I look forward to working with CDA to bring innovation to our outreach strategy and engage more young Americans.”

“I’m really excited to be part of an organization that is constantly showing the country, and Republicans, that students can make an effective difference in how their government is run,” stated Alic.

College Democrats of New York was established as an official outreach arm of the New York State Democratic Party.

Today, as an affiliate of College Democrats of America, CDNY is committed to empowering young progressives.

The students involved in CDNY work diligently to help elect strong progressive Democrats in the state of New York and across the country.
