Bush Eclipses 1,000 Points In Redhawk Varsity Basketball Career

OSWEGO COUNTY – Central Square’s Natalie Bush surpassed 1,000 career points for the varsity girls basketball team during the Redhawks’ recent game against Clyde-Savannah.

She netted 24 points during the game on Monday, Feb. 12, to become the sixth Central Square School District girls basketball player to join the 1,000 point club.

Bush, a senior at Paul V. Moore High School who also plays for the volleyball and softball teams, will continue playing basketball at the NCAA level for SUNY Canton.

Others who reached 1,000 points while playing for the Redhawks include Kelli Murphy (1987), Jennifer Ash (1991), Tara Trammell (1998), Katie Hart (2008) and Julia Mann (2021).

Central Square’s team finished the regular season 16-3 and earned the top seed in the Section III Class AA playoffs.

The Redhawks earned a first-round bye and will open tournament play at home Friday, Feb. 23 against ninth-seeded East Syracuse-Minoa. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at PVM High School.
