OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been four additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since yesterday.
The cumulative reported number is 290 cases across the county and of those, 272 have recovered and four have died.
Oswego County Legislature Chairman James Weatherup posted his weekly video update today. In the brief, he said the county will soon see an influx of anglers for salmon fishing and local residents are concerned as to what that will mean for the health and safety of the community.
Weatherup said he wants to assure residents the county is working with their partners, such as the State Department of Environmental Conservation to develop procedures to protect the community.
“If people comply with the guidelines, we can all enjoy outdoor activities safely and prudently,” Weatherup said.
He also discussed how gyms and fitness centers are now in the reopening process. Before they can open, owners or operators of fitness facilities must submit a safety plan and schedule an inspection with the county health department, which has already started the inspection process.
Once approved to open, they can operate at 33% capacity. Indoor classes can be held by reservation or appointment and the 6-foot physical distance rule must be followed.
Today’s statistics are below:
