OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been 110 additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since Wednesday, November 25.
New cases yesterday: 32
New cases today: 78 – a new high record for number of positive cases within one day in Oswego County.
Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang pointed out that today is another record-breaking number for a single day report. He said that the community’s weak point in this COVID pandemic are the people who choose not to practice protective measures such as social distancing and wearing a face covering.
Today there are 494 active cases across the county.
SUNY Oswego reported six new cases since Wednesday.
The Oswego County Health Department is investigating a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the American Legion Post 268, 69 W. Bridge St., Oswego. Anyone who visited the club on Saturday, Nov. 21 between 2 and 9 p.m. may have been exposed to the virus. More information can be found here[1].
Today’s statistics are below:
Oswego County:[2] (as of 3 p.m.) Note, the total number of positive cases is cumulative since March and the number of recoveries and deaths are of those numbers. SUNY Oswego cases are included in the county numbers, however, the county tracks only those living in Oswego County. That means that students who chose to leave and go back to their home county and test positive there will be included on the college’s dashboard, but not the county’s. Their positive result would be reported to their home county, not here.
